Getting and keeping the attention of children is tough. You want to educate them, and for them to remember the lesson, but when you’re competing with TV and video games it can be an uphill battle. You need someone who can entertain children, who can make them laugh and get them to pay attention. I’ve designed my show with that in mind. I include lots of audience volunteers, the children are the ones to make the magic happen, and of course there are plenty of moments when I look silly, the audience catches me in the act and they even do the magic when I don’t want them to! Everything is designed with the audience in mind.
An Entertaining Message Is One They’ll Remember!
But being entertaining isn’t enough. When you’re hiring a performer to come to your school or library, there’s got to be solid content to the presentation. There’s a lot of pressure to pick the best educational entertainment possible. The spotlight may be on the show, but it reflects right back on you. Make sure you pick an entertainer who will provide fun and laughs, but who will also make you look good. My shows are designed to integrate your message, whether it’s reading, character building or your unique theme, into the magic. I don’t just do the same show but change the magic words to “Read a book!” I take the ideas you want to impart to the audience and put them directly into the magic, so the magic itself is a vehicle for the message.

But even that isn’t enough. With so much for you to handle, I feel my job is more than just showing up and providing quality entertainment. My job is to make your job easy. I’ve worked in the corporate world and I know the importance of professionalism, courtesy and flexibility. I know how much easier it is to manage an event when you work with an entertainer you like. That means I return calls quickly, I show up early to the event and I’m ready to entertain when I arrive. My show needs little set up or lights and I can even provide my own sound if you need me to!
